From 1962 until 1988 Erwin Brunner was employed by the former Swiss Bank Corporation (now UBS) and was in charge of the private and institutional client department. He oversaw portfolio management and financial research and analysis. His last assignment was as director of investments. From 1986 until 1988 he was member of the board of directors of Interfonds AG, the fund management division of the bank. From 1968 until 1969 he worked with Kidder Peabody & Co. in New York. He has over 35 years of experience in wealth and fund management and more than 18 years of experience in the management of funds of funds. Prior to founding BrunnerInvest AG in 1991 he was, from 1989 on, the CEO of Rothschild Bank AG in Zurich. He was also president of several boards of directors of subsidiaries of the bank. In 1991 he established BrunnerInvest AG in Switzerland. The purpose of the company is wealth and funds management specializing in worldwide long-only and long-short equity funds. In 1995 the umbrella fund Star MM Funds was launched in Dublin and in 2004 the Swiss Barracuda Funds umbrella fund together with AIG Fondsleitung AG (the fund services division of AIG Bank). All funds are registered for distribution in Switzerland. Erwin Brunner attended several executive and leadership training programmes at the renowned IMD Business School in Lausanne and at the Harvard Business School in Boston, USA. He is also member of the board of several investment companies that focus on Southern and Eastern Europe.
Alexander E. Brunner has been a member of the board of directors of BrunnerInvest AG since 1995, most recently as vice-president. Since 2006 he has been a member of the executive team and part of the investment- and research-team of the company. He has several years of experience in funds analysis and selection. He studied from 1996 until 2001 at the University of St. Gallen (HSG) and graduated with a master degree in business management. During his exchange semester he studied finance at the renowned Stockholm School of Economics in Sweden. In 1996 he gained experienced in the fund industry working for the Charlemagne Capital Group (formerly Regent Pacific) in London, an emerging markets fund management company. In 1999 he worked for Credit Suisse First Boston on the trading floor support team. He also worked in 2001 in the risk management team of Crédit Lyonnais in Zurich. From 2002 to 2005 as brand manager for Unilever (Switzerland) GmbH he oversaw a national product launch. Alexander E. Brunner also participated in executive training at Harvard Business School in the USA.
Claudia Valérie Brunner is a research fellow at the University of Zurich at the chair of Prof. Dr. Daniel Jositsch. Meanwhile she is working on her doctoral dissertation in criminal law. She has been a member of the board since 2000 and works part-time in different functions. From 2002 to 2003 she was employed by the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich in the nanotechnology department.
Thomas P. Zemp has been a member of the board since 2001. He is a lawyer and partner of the law company Beglinger Holenstein, Attorneys at Law, in Zurich. He studied law at the University of St.Gallen (lic. Iur. HSG in 1990) and qualified as a lawyer in 1993. Before joining Beglinger Holstein in 1997, Mr. Zemp worked at a medium sized legal practice specialising in commercial law in Zurich. He continued his professional training at the Swiss Tax Academy from 1998 to 2000, when he was awarded a post-graduate qualification as a tax expert. He is a specialist in financial market law, mergers & acquisitions, international and domestic tax law, financial planning and international legal aid, particularly in criminal cases.
